Jackson Hole Poetry Box

Poetry can be found anywhere, a creed manifested in a freestanding depot stocked with free poetry.

The Poetry Box places poetry into the hands of passerby by enticing them with its whimsical design – done by artist John Frechette – to reach into the box and take a free poem with them as they go about their daily business. The box is regularly stocked with new poems culled from the Jackson Hole Review, pARTners classes, Library visiting speakers and writers, and local and regional writing programs.Encouraging continued curiosity, people always find some new insight inside the Poetry Box.

The brainchild of local arts writer and advocate (and my sister) Meg Daly, the Poetry Box was implemented as a collaborative project between Jackson Hole Public Art, Teton County Library, the Jackson Hole Review and the Jackson Hole Writer’s Conference.
